Ordering a sleep study

Our team has over 45 years’ experience in managing sleep disorders. If you are unsure whether your patient needs a sleep study, we would be happy to offer advice.

The results will be accompanied by a comprehensive report and recommendations from an expert sleep physician based in UK. The recommendations will be based on the detailed sleep questionnaire that is sent out to the patient before the sleep study.

Once your order has been received, we will contact the patient.

Referring a patient for a consultation

If you think your patient needs a comprehensive sleep consultation, you can refer them to us.

Please note that it is important to establish if your patient is covered by private medical insurance as this could affect the cost of the consultation. Usually, consultations are undertaken online via Skype and last between 30-60 mins. Occasionally, it may be possible for them to be seen face to face depending on their geographical location in the UK.

Please check the ‘Our fees’ section for detailed information on rates.

OSA and heart disease/stroke

There is accumulating evidence that untreated sleep apnoea (moderate and severe) is associated with increased risk of heart disease and stroke. People with established coronary heart disease have worse long-term outcomes if they have sleep apnoea.

Moreover, hypertension is more common in patients with sleep apnoea and treating OSA lowers blood pressure significantly.

Central sleep apnoea is a risk factor for heart failure.

Sleep apnoea and Atrial Fibrillation (AF)

Patients with OSA have increased prevalence of AF. Treating OSA in patients with AF undergoing cardioversion or ablation could reduce the risk of recurrence. Cardiologists are increasingly aware of this association and are requesting sleep apnoea testing on most of their patients with AF.
